University of MN Extension, I CAN Prevent Diabetes Program, Also known as National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP)
Learn how to create a healthier lifestyle and its role in preventing diabetes in this year-long prevention program. Groups will meet with a trained lifestyle coach once a week for 16 weeks followed by 8 monthly sessions to help participants set personal goals to lose weight, eat healthier and increase physical activity.
There will be reimbursement for childcare for those that need it and a $50 incentive to those participants that complete the class. In addition, there will be other incentives offered throughout for attending classes.
If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, additional sessions will be added to complete the program.
Who Should Participate
I CAN Prevent Diabetes Program, a CDC-approved curriculum, is designed for people with prediabetes or at risk for diabetes. This program may be for you if you are:
• At risk for but NOT currently diagnosed with diabetes
• Not pregnant
• History of gestational diabetes
• Women ages 18 – 44

Time: 9 – 10 am
Location: Warehouse, 307 Norway Ave, Pine River, MN 56474
Duration: 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions (one year total)
