Brainerd for All Ages: What’s Next?

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent community survey and focus groups. Your voices, experiences, and ideas are shaping the future of our community. We are currently compiling the full results, and these findings will be available to the public soon.

As we move into the next phase of our Age-Friendly journey, Brainerd for All Ages is beginning the Action Planning process. This work is guided by the 8 Domains of Livability from AARP, which offer a comprehensive framework for creating communities where people of all ages can thrive. These domains include:

• Outdoor Spaces & Buildings
• Transportation
• Housing
• Social Participation
• Respect & Social Inclusion
• Civic Participation & Employment
• Communication & Information
• Community & Health Services

Our goal is to use what we learned from residents to develop meaningful, community-driven strategies that strengthen Brainerd as a welcoming, connected, and supportive place for people of all ages.

We are now forming workgroups to help shape our Age-Friendly Action Plan, and we would love to have community members, partners, and local organizations join us in this effort.
