This year marked the 8th Annual reThink Your Drink Water Challenge. A total of 20 local businesses and more than 500 individuals came together to take part in this community wide effort to build healthier habits.
The challenge encourages participants to rethink their daily beverage choices by increasing water consumption and reducing sugary drinks such as soda, energy drinks, and sweetened beverages. Drinking more water supports better hydration, improves energy levels, and contributes to overall health and wellness. By making small daily changes, participants are taking meaningful steps toward healthier lifestyles.
The challenge has become a powerful way to bring the community together. Businesses form teams, coworkers encourage one another, and participants share their progress and successes throughout the challenge. This friendly collaboration not only promotes accountability but also strengthens relationships within workplaces and across the community.
By choosing water more often and cutting back on sugary drinks, participants are helping create a healthier future for themselves, their workplaces, and the entire community. The water challenge demonstrates that when people come together around a shared goal, positive changes become easier and more enjoyable to achieve.
Staying properly hydrated is one of the simplest ways to support your overall health and energy throughout the day. Small, consistent habits can make it easier to drink enough water and keep your body functioning at its best.
Try incorporating these simple hydration tips into your daily routine:
- Start your day by drinking a full glass of water as soon as you wake up to help rehydrate your body after a night of sleep.
- Try to drink a glass of water before having your morning coffee to support hydration and help your body wake up naturally.
- Aim to drink about half your body weight in ounces of water each day to maintain proper hydration and support overall health.
- Keep a reusable water bottle with you throughout the day as a reminder to drink water regularly.
- Add natural flavor like lemon, cucumber, or berries to your water if you need a little extra motivation to stay hydrated.
- Drink a glass of water with each meal to help you stay on track with your daily hydration goals.
- Set reminders on your phone or watch throughout the day to encourage regular water breaks.
- Increase your water intake during exercise or warm weather to replace fluids lost through sweat.
