Matter Of Balance

Our Purpose

Are you worried about falling, or perhaps concerned about a loved one or neighbor? Many older adults share these fears and may limit their activities as a result.

The award-winning A Matter of Balance program helps older adults overcome their fear of falling by teaching them that falls are preventable. The program provides valuable education on fall prevention, empowering participants with the confidence and independence to enjoy their favorite activities. Additionally, A Matter of Balance encourages goal-setting to increase physical activity, recommends simple changes to reduce fall risks at home, and introduces exercises to enhance strength and balance.

This class will meet once a week for 2 hours each session. The program is 8 weeks long. There is no cost but registration is required.

  • Are concerned about falls
  • Are interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • Have fallen in the past
  • Restrict activities because of falling concerns
