Kick off the New Year by attending Stomp out the Stigma!. REEL North Alliance and Crow Wing Energized have teamed up to sponsor this two part vent.

Part one, we kick off with a presentation on “Changing the Narrative”  Tuesday, January 16th 6pm to 8pm in the Gathering Room at Pequot Lakes High School.  Community members 18 years and older are welcome.  Our presenter is Destiny Tinnes, Minnesota Suicide Prevention Regional Coordinator- North Central Region.  Registration is required but there is no cost. There is a minimum participation count we need to reach, so please help us spread the word to pack the house.

Participants will:

  • Understand the importance of language surrounding Mental Health and Suicide.
  • Identify risk and protective factors.
  • Feel empowered to respond to someone in distress.
  • Discuss feelings, beliefs, and attitudes while talking about Mental Health and Suicide.

Share this information with anyone in the Brainerd Lakes Community that is interested in supporting our youth and Mental Health.  All are welcome ages 18 years and older.

 

Part two, we will team up with Crosby/Ironton to pledge to Stomp out the Stigma at the Pequot vs. Crosby Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball games on Tuesday, January 23rd in Pequot Lakes. Here you will be able to make a pledge to help Stomp Out the Stigma, enter a drawing for REEL North Alliance Merch, play Pop-a-Shot, and meet our REEL North Alliance crew!  Boys Varsity will tip off at 5:45pm and Girls Varsity will Tip off at 7:15pm.
